My district is in the process of migrating to a new automation system. Although we've been working on this since March of last school year, things have kind of come together all at once. We are doing a series of trainings this week to get on board with the new system.
I'm excited about the new possibilities that the system should afford us. I hope it will have more opportunities for user interaction. It will certainly be more graphically appealing than our current system. A huge benefit is that results will now have a book cover image. That will make a big difference for our users. Our current system has pretty awful catalog search results and will no longer be upgraded due to being bought by a competitor.
I've got my fingers crossed for a smooth transition and a relatively small learning curve.

I'd like to hear how it goes! We currently use Horizon in my district and I was told that the company won't even give tech support any more, it's so old. I get very frustrated with it. My library director got shot down by the board when she asked for a new system this summer. The board will have to do something by the next school year, because this system will no work after this school year.
Our BOE approved the purchase of a new circulation system! As of Jan 28th our old system (Horizon) was shut down and we switched to a temporary system. After some training in early March, we'll get going on our new system - Follett Destiny. It's weird not being able to see what's checked out electronically, though of course I can just go to the shelf and look. I didn't realize how many students ask which books they have checked out! We can't tell them anything until all the temporary data gets uploaded to the new system.

I'm finding Destiny much better from the user side. From the admin side of the system there is a lot more getting used to the way the system works.
That transitional period is tough.
